Because meaning isn’t just something we find - it’s something we build.
Why I Created Unified Meaning Theory (UMT)
For most of my life, one question has relentlessly driven me:
Why do some people emerge stronger from suffering while others break under it?
I didn’t just ask this question - I lived it.
At 25, I became a quadriplegic. In a single moment, my entire reality collapsed.
My identity, my independence, my future - all of it gone.
What followed wasn’t just a physical struggle. It was meaning collapse. An existential free fall.
Who was I now? What was the point? Why keep going?
That’s when I realised the real problem:
I had no system for rebuilding meaning.
No framework to restore purpose.
No roadmap to make life feel worth living again.
I searched everywhere - psychology, philosophy, self-help, religion. Each offered a piece of the puzzle, but none provided a complete picture.
So I built one.
The Breakthrough: Meaning is a System, Not a Feeling
Unified Meaning Theory (UMT) isn’t just an idea - it’s a structured system for making meaning antifragile.
It explains why meaning collapses - and how to prevent it.
It provides a framework for restoring purpose and motivation.
It reveals what truly fuels lasting fulfilment (hint: it’s not just happiness or success).
Most people think meaning is about self-esteem. But even with self-worth intact, meaning can still fracture.
This explains why:
High achievers still feel empty.
Burnout leads to nihilism.
People lose hope - even when they’ve done everything “right.”
UMT bridges the gaps that psychology, philosophy, and self-help leave behind.
It’s the system I wish I had when I lost everything.
